Sawblader

For some reason, you are stuck in an arena, filled with slimes. Too many slimes. But you are quite strong, and you have a handy bat, and a... saw? Well, whatever it takes to survive.

This is a top-down survival game, where you as the player, has to survive hordes of slimes by bashing a saw around the room, with a trusty bat. How long can you survive, and how many slimes can you take down before your inevitable death?

Controls

  • WASD/Arrow Keys to move.
  • Mouse to aim.
  • LMB to charge and swing.

Made for Trijam #212, with the theme of Too Much. This game tries to fit the theme by featuring an ever-increasing amount of slimes, and probably too much screen shake, because the player has too much power/strength.

Great Game! I really like it! :)

Great game, reminded me of the old flash games. Thanks for the nostalgia.

Really cool! It would be nice to see some upgrades and more hitpoints

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, while thinking about the game, we also thought that this game would be pretty cool with upgrades, like more saws and stuff.

But alas, this was for a 3-hour game jam, so we decided to cut out any extra content and purely focused on making the main mechanic of the game as satisfying as possible.

very cool game !!

my high score was 963

Thanks for playing!

Damn the game feels so juicy, especially when you hit the saw with maximum swing! (sfx, screen shake, slow mo etc) Really good job ! Got a score of 920

A few nitpicks: When the saw is on the edge of the screen, its basically rng since you cant see the blobs come at you Movement feels a bit stiff, I wanted to load my hit while walking a few times. But lmb stops me at once

Great game tho had a lot of fun

Yeah, I agree with your nitpicks. Not quite sure how we'd deal with the "edge of screen RNG" problem, but as for the movement, we did think about letting the player move when charging up a hit, but we didn't implement it, because to be honest, our sprites didn't have the animation for it, and we ran out of time for the jam. <.<

Thanks a lot for trying out our game though! Glad you enjoyed it!
